Bamboo ring medium filter same time absorbs the dirt and smell out of aquarium water, and provides an excellent breeding environment for beneficial filtering bacteria, that decompose harmful ammonia. Also it absorbs the various minerals eluted in water to stabilize water quality.
After setting up, an aquarium the ammonia immediately begins accumulating to hazardous environment. Charcoal ring medium filter physically and chemically adsorbs the harmful substances by filtration, and reduce the risk of the after-setup unstable period.
In 2~3 weeks from installation, the beneficial filtration bacteria colonize the charcoal rings, the biological filtration system begins to perform linking nitrification: Ammonia → Nitrite → Nitrate is completed.
Moreover, with its excellent water permeability, the rings prevent clogging and ensure a stable water flow.
Directions for use:
● 60cm aquarium is good for 1 of 0.8L pack charcoal rings.
● Lightly wash the charcoal rings in their net before use. Pls note, the product is a natural bamboo charcoal, that can be damaged by vigorous wash.
● The charcoal can float, but for the best effect it need to be fully under the water, bounded in net.
● Once every few weeks or 1 month depending on the dirt, the charcoal rings may need some wash with clean water. DO NOT use the tap water, for the chlorine can kill the filtration bacteria in there. Use the clean water from the same tank. (!) After been soaked in water, don't let it completely dry. It becomes brittle and can crack or crumble.
● As time pass the absorption and deodorizing decreasing. The filter rings need to be replaced not later than 6 months.
